The collection of scientific papers “Book Qualilogy” was founded by the Ukrainian Academy of Printing in 1996 and is published twice a year.

The main purpose of the publication includes the following strategic directions:

  1. To test and present to the scientific community new theoretical achievements and research results of scholars, doctoral candidates, and postgraduate students; in particular, to establish priority of a scientific idea or invention and to obtain feedback from colleagues (through further citation or critique).
  2. To systematize knowledge in the field of publishing and printing, and to accumulate comprehensive perspectives on solving problems related to ensuring the quality of technological processes and finished products.
  3. To ensure scientific communication and dialogue between different generations of scholars.
  4. Informational and archival function. The publication of collections ensures the preservation of scientific information over time and space. Through distribution of copies to leading libraries and indexing in digital databases (for example, Google Scholar), research results become accessible to future generations of researchers.
  5. Qualification significance. According to the requirements of regulatory acts (in particular, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine or the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance), the presence of publications in professional collections is a mandatory condition for: defending dissertations for the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Sciences; obtaining academic titles (Associate Professor, Professor); reporting on scientific grants and state-funded research projects.

The collection may publish materials based on the results of the International scientific and practical conferences “Book Qualilogy”, which are held annually at the educational institution.

Initially, the collection reflected the scientific achievements of scholars only from the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, but over time, its geography expanded, and authors from other organizations in Ukraine, and subsequently from abroad, began to be published.
