The scientific journal “Book Qualilogy” was founded by the Ukrainian Academy of Printing in 1996 and is published twice a year.

Due to the need to improve the quality of higher education and the requirement to strengthen the research work of departments, the journal was set the following tasks:

• to promote the development of research work at departments;
• to improve teaching methods of individual disciplines by publishing articles on both general teaching methodology and methods for specific disciplines;
• to help students get involved in scientific work through academic circles;
• in the criticism and bibliography section, to provide reviews of selected published works related primarily to the printing industry.

The journal was intended to publish results of theoretical and experimental research in the field of printing machine engineering, printing technology and materials, information technologies and automation of printing production, book science, publishing and book trade organization, economics and printing organization, natural and social sciences and humanities

If initially the journal outlined the scientific achievements of scientists from the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, then gradually the geography expanded and the journal began to publish authors from other organizations in Ukraine, and then from abroad.
